BIO

I am the Founder of the startups CINESCREEN STUDIOS and Tonia Willis Photography.

I'm a graduate of Chapman University’s MFA Showrunner program (Television, Writing and Producing).

I was inspired to become a filmmaker because of my genuine love for storytelling. I am interested in representing and serving the voices of undeserved communities as a storyteller.

My journey started with a love for creative writing, then theater, and eventually to my evolution as a filmmaker. There’s a phrase that I use: “Creativity generates its own rewards.” I love collaborating with others to produce great creative works.

I am a media maker. My passion for the media arts is at the heart of everything I do.  Storytelling is what makes us human. Storytelling is what makes audiences care. Stories are a conduit for struggle and facilitating change.

Each screenplay, film, or photograph challenges me to develop my skills as a storyteller—to create a vehicle for the audience through which the work can be experienced.

My ultimate vision is to embrace a culture of diversity and sustainability through the creation of media channels that support writers and visual artists working at the intersection of arts and technology.

I enjoy the rapidly changing atmosphere of television and film and is eager to contribute to the creative team of a company seeking a partnership in bringing fresh perspectives to storytelling in writing, development and production.
